My research experience ranges from experimental physics and computer simulations to chemistry and the physics of living matter, but almost often has a link with soft matter, and in particular colloids. A more detailed description of past and present projects can be found below.
Research Occupations:
2016-present: Research fellow at The University of Edinburgh
2014-2016: Marie Curie fellow at The University of Edinburgh, investigating patchy interactions between bacteria and surfaces.
2011-2014: Post-doctorate research at the Sapienza university of Rome, computer simulations of patchy particles, in collaboration with Utrecht University.
2006-2010: PhD research at Utrecht University, experimental physics on out of equilibrium systems of oppositely charged colloids at Utrecht University. Defended PhD Thesis “Oppositely Charged Colloids Out of Equilibrium” on 15 November 2010.
2000-2006: Chemistry, Radboud University Nijmegen, obtained master degree in chemistry Cum Laude in 2006.
